SummitData leaps forward with acclaimed Cloud Computing Solutions designed solely for Small and Medium Sized Businesses.  Turn your complex capital expenses into a completely managed utility computing service.

What is Cloud Computing?

Cloud Computing provides computing resources as a service that users can access via the internet or on their internal company network.

We have developed a true utility-based computing model that allows businesses of leverage all of their Information Technology assets into a single operating cost rather than a myriad of complex capital expenses.  By accessing resources in a "grid" (or "cloud") much in the same way electricity is delivered, you now have access to all of your resources including:

  • Desktops
  • Email
  • File Storage
  • Applications
  • and more!

We will provide all equipment and support, turning your computing resources into a single, reliable service.

Where is my data located?

We offer two options for Cloud solutions:  in-house or hosted.  With our in-house solution, we provide your entire computing infrastructure, including all servers, desktops, and even core Microsoft Applications!  We even include backup and disaster recovery with off-site secure data retention.  Our solutions even include unlimited remote helpdesk and onsite support, all for less than you currently are paying for your hardware alone!

Our datacenter offering provides for a fully hosted and redundant solution that eliminates the need for you to have anything more than a desktop on location.  This is ideal for telecommuters, multiple-site offices, sites with a demand for 24x7x365 uptime, and even simply those who do not want any more equipment at their location.  Savings are typically at LEAST 30% over a traditional infrastructure with 99.999% uptime!

How much will I save?

That depends on many factors including how frequently you replace hardware, current staff and operating expenses, current outsourced IT costs, software expenses, and lost productivity.  On the average, we see a minimum savings of 30% or more on hard costs alone, not including "soft" costs like productivity loss, computer problems, etc...

What are the benefits of Cloud Computing?

ZERO upfront costs and a significant reduction in capital expenditures.  You virtually eliminate the need to purchase expensive hardware, keeping capital expenses off the books and moving toward an operational approach.  No more investing in new computers every 3-4 years just because the software requires an updated system.  No more need to upgrade your operating system, office platform, or email software as this is now included.

Pay-as-you-grow.  Servers and hardware are purchased to meet capacity needs, not current needs.  As a result, a substantial percentage of resources are wasted until you grow into them, if ever.  In contrast, a pay-as-you-grow model enables you to utilize only the capacity you need at the time.

Go GREEN.  An average server can cost over $650 per year in power consumption, let alone the byproducts left by the hardware when it is replaced in a few years.  Imagine how you can help the environment and save money doing it, all while deriving the benefit of moving your infrastructure to the cloud!

Integrated backup and business continuity.  All of the SummitData Cloud Solutions integrate both backup and business continuity features previous only available to enterprise-level organizations.  Complete failover and redundancy at every level.

Keep up with the Joneses.  Your infrastructure is always up to date with the latest and greatest in both hardware and software.  You no longer need to incur the dreaded "upgrade" projects and worry if your old software will support the new system and vice-versa.

Significant cost savings.  Not only will you enjoy not having those large capital expenditures, but you will also see an increase in productivity and decrease in other IT-related costs, allowing you to focus more on strategic initiatives that add value rather than mire in the everyday details of managing servers and workstations.
